New Ryan Adams

I can barely wait for the new Ryan Adam's CD to come out on October 11. HERE is a preview of the song that I can't get out of my head. I promise this won't be one of those songs that you get stuck in your head and then want to kill the person who put it there. You'll thank me.

I am so jealous about JCrew's crewcuts line for kids. I want to be five years old. Or have a five year old. Or be the size of a five year old. Any of those would work if it meant that I got this swimsuit.

Thing 1: I stress ate my way through a whole bag of these babies today. I'm not talking about a "fun sized" bag. I ate an entire "preschool snack time" kind of bag.

Thing 2: I am in love with the stunning new paintings by Sarah Ashley Longshore. Her inspiration came from a Audrey Hepburn and Hermes scarves.

Weekend paperdolls

Is it really the weekend already? Where did this week go? 

I'm out and about filming a PSA on marijuana with a bunch of high schoolers today. Well, first I have a meeting, then a focus group, then helping some kiddos film a PSA. Did I mention that it's Saturday? 

I stumbled across these fun postcards in the latest Matchbook magazine and want to mail them to everyone I know. Who wouldn't smile if they opened their mailbox and found this fashionista paper doll? Too bad I'm broke or I would have just placed an order for 40 paper doll postcards!

Map Map Map Map

I saw these typographic maps on another blog today and flipped over them. The entire maps accurately depict neighborhoods, parks, streets, rivers- with only type! All words were manually placed and it took hundreds of hours to make each map.

Right now they have Chicago and Boston. I'm sure Columbia, Missouri will be next.

These definately made me think of my friend who is obsessed with typography.

Decisions, Decisions

The chair we have in our living room right now is a hot mess. It was (very kindly!) handed down to us from a friend who was moving to LA to be a hip photographer. It has an extremely broken frame and ottoman from years of "love" and the once-white color is now "freckled" and "sunkissed." Like my use of adjectives?

So, I've been searching around for a new one that is similar in size since my husband is freakishly tall. I also think I want a white chair with a slip cover that I can throw it in the wash. And, it must have an ottoman because tall husband and I are lazy and like to lounge.

Here's what I have in mind.

I know it's kind of boring but it is very practical for the price: $199!

Assuming I order a matching white ottoman to go with this chair, I'd like to order a patterned ottoman to put in front of the couch to double as a coffee table. I'm hoping this will discourage tall husband from eating so much food on the coffee table. I'd love your opinion on which you like better!

OR

They are the same price, give or take $30. Thoughts?
